Configuring Your iPhone to Access E-Mail


To Setup Your iPhone
for SmarterMail E-Mail Access


IMPORTANT: These settings will not sync your Contacts or Calendars. The following will allow you to retrieve or sync your mail on your iPhone.

  • On your iPhone or iPod touch's home screen select Settings and then Mail
  • Select Add Account
  • Select Other
  • Select IMAP or POP (IMAP will sync all mail folders whereas POP will download only from the inbox)
  • Fill in the following:

    Name: Your First and Last Name
    Address: Your full email address
    Description: Whatever you want

  • Incoming Mail Server: (POP3)
  • Select: SSL
  • Host Name: securemail.chicagonettech.com
  • User Name: Your full e-mail address
  • Password: Your e-mail password
  • Outgoing Mail Server: SMTP
  • Select: SSL
  • Host Name: securemail.chicagonettech.com
  • User Name: Your full e-mail address
  • Password: Your e-mail password
  • Save the configuration

  • Important Information:

    - POP3 does not sync your mail, it only downloads it from the server.  If you send or move mail around in your iPhone it will not be duplicated on the server. To Sync mail use IMAP instead of POP3.

    - because ChicagoNetTech runs SSL for e-mail access, you must always use "securemail.chicagonettech.com" for the server name connection.

    - Your User Name must be your full email address.
